BEZ Systems is led by the following team of proven software industry executives with guidance and direction from a seasoned Board of Directors.
F. Daniel Haley
President and Chief Executive Officer
Dan Haley joined BEZ from storage resource management vendor Astrum Software where he served as CEO. Astrum was sold to EMC Corporation 2004. Prior to Astrum, Dan was Executive Vice President of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) vendor Xchange Applications, where he was responsible for several business units and completed three M&A transactions. He was a member of the management team that completed an IPO that eventually led to a market capitalization of over $2 billion and he sourced, negotiated and closed many of the company's largest customer transactions.
Previously, Dan served as the founding President and CEO of applications performance management company Precise Software Solutions, where he led the company through its formative stages. He developed the company's value proposition for its performance management applications, focused development from five product lines to one, identified target markets, created distribution channels and developed the business model and organizational structure that led to an eventual IPO and a market capitalization in excess of $800 million. He has also served as a venture capital partner with Advent International and early in his career he held marketing, financial and product management positions with Digital Equipment Corporation. He holds an MBA from the University of Denver.
Dr. Boris E. Zibitsker
Chairman and Chief Technology Officer
Boris Zibitsker is responsible for research and professional services. He has over 30 years of experience with performance evaluation, modeling and performance prediction of complex computer systems. Boris founded BEZ Systems and has served as Chairman and CTO since 2001. He emigrated to the US from Russia and has held performance management and capacity planning positions for the First National Bank of Chicago and CNA Insurance Company. Previously, he was a project leader at the Computer Systems Research and Development Institute in Minsk, where he managed development of software for automatic scheduling and workload management for IBM-compatible mainframes.
Boris has presented many papers throughout the world at international and regional conferences. He has taught seminars for the Kellogg Business School of Northwestern University and the Graduate School of Business of University of Chicago, served as an adjunct Associate Professor at DePaul University, and he continues to consult and teach performance management and capacity planning at seminars throughout the world. Boris has an MS degree in Computer Science and Automatic Control from the Radio Engineering Institute in Minsk, and his Doctorate work was focused on Modeling and Performance Evaluation of Complex Computer Systems.
Atif Majid
Vice President of Architecture
Atif Majid is a veteran software engineer and a talented architect with extensive experience in software design and development. He joined BEZ from EMC Corporation, where he worked on the development of a storage resource management application that enabled companies to efficiently monitor and manage their storage infrastructure. Atif started this product while he was with Astrum Software, which was later acquired by EMC.
Prior to Astrum Software, he was a software architect for Exchange Applications, where he contributed to the architecture, design and development of the company's next-generation product that involved the development of a real-time, rules-based recommendation engine and offer delivery system. Atif's career history also includes development of applications for the banking sector, and he has held several positions in the technical and management arenas. He has an MS degree in Computer Science from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Brian Doyle
Vice President of Product Services
Brian Doyle is responsible for product management, technical support and customer training. As chairman of the company's Product Strategy Committee, Doyle also plays an active role in guiding the future direction of BEZ Software's product solutions. He is responsible for evaluating market opportunities and establishing market requirements for existing and future products being developed by BEZ Systems. Prior to joining BEZ, he was responsible for managing the customer support operation for the Precise i3 product line at VERITAS Corporation. He was previously Director of Technical Services Operation for Precise Software, which was acquired by VERITAS. In this role, Brian was responsible for managing a team of technical service engineers that handled the daily call center operation, escalation processing and follow-the-sun handoffs for North and South America customers and partners.
During Brian's eight-year tenure at Precise he worked closely with customers and prospects. He served in various capacities, including as a product specialist, field engineer and technical services engineer and manager. Brian has over 20 years experience as a skilled and versatile IT and technical services professional. His entire career has been devoted to supporting information creation and information dissemination in an effort to increase end-user and business, productivity. Brian holds an MS degree in Information Systems from Northeastern University in Boston.
