Workload Forecasting - BEZVision includes standard performance planning features to easily forecast system growth on a per workload basis. Forecasts can be projected into future time periods based on historical trends or by user-supplied specific workload growth estimates. |

Workload Growth Surges - BEZVision can automatically evaluate the effects of expected (or unexpected) surges in workload growth along with estimates of when individual worklaods will no longer meet their performance objectives. In this case, we have selected three workloads for detailed analysis and can clearly see when each of these workloads will exceed its response time performance objective. |

Configuration Adjustments - BEZVision can be used to evaluate a wide array of hardware configuration adjustments. In this example, we are using BEZVision to evaluate three different hardware configurations under different loads by increasing the number of database instances running on each configuration. There appears to be little difference between these configurations as long as we keep the number of database instances below about 30 to 40. We can readily see from the BEZVision analysis results that as the number of instances approches 90, hardware configuration 3 is slightly better than configuration 2 but both of these are significantly better than configuration 1. |

Server Consolidations - BEZVision can be used to evaluate the relative advantages of a server consolidation effort. By using BEZVision in this way, you can easily make "go/no go" decisions on proceeding with the consolidation. You can also see projected estimates of the magnitude of the effects of a consolidation effort without having to commit resources if the consolidation won't produce the desired benefit. In this example, we can see how selected workloads will perform when consolidated onto a new server along with estimates of when each workloads response time will no longer meet their performance objectives. |

Additional Capacity - BEZVision can also be readily employed for more traditional capacity planning activities. In this case, we can see how individual workloads will perform in light of an expected hardware upgrade scheduled for later in the year. Having this knowledge ahead of time allows you to adjust the timing and magnitude of hardware upgrades based on the performance of the individual workloads and the cost of the upgrade. This information is invaluable for negotiating with vendors for the best price at the best time. |
