BEZVision Product Tour: Problem Isolation
Notifications - BEZVision provides automated notification, via e-mail, of any alerts generated by the three audit classes supported within the product - Abnormal Trends, Performance Objective Breaches, and Actual vs. Expected Variations. |
User-Defined Thresholds - In order to reduce the risk of "false alarms," all auditors are user-configurable to ensure that alerts are generated accurately and in a timely manner. |
Abnormal Trend Isolation - The Abnormal Trends auditor analyzes performance and resource utilization data, and using statistical process control filters to separate actual trends from background noise, reports on variations in response time, throughput, or CPU utilization. |
Performance Objective Breach - This auditor monitors response time and throughput and projects pending breaches of service objectives based on predicted growth and system load. For example, if you have specified that you wish to maintain response time for a certain workload within a certain range of tolerance over time, the Performance Objective monitor will alert you if the BEZVision prediction engine anticipates a near-term breach. |
Actual vs. Expected Performance Breach - This auditor will alert you if your response time or throughput deviate by more than a fixed percentage from a previously defined baseline prediction. |
Database Design Advice - Based on historical performance data, BEZVision can analyze SQL-level resource utilization and contention, and suggest database design changes in the form of index creation recommendations. It will also identify unreferenced objects that may be candidates for deletion. |
Event Logging - BEZVision provides easy access to comprehensive event logging within the UI. Events can be filtered by server, time range, and category. |
Performance Metrics - BEZVision provides over 60 metrics covering perofrmance, utilization and data access. |
Business Drill-Down - BEZVision allows you to drill-down into business workloads by clicking on a particular workload on the graphic. In this example, we can see the contribution to the total, the date and the name of the workload we have selected. We are also presented with a list of drill-down options to see more detail of the workload composition. |
Powerful Zoom - BEZVision provides a powerful yet easy to use zoom feature that allows you to view workload-specific performance information in a way that makes the most sense to you and the problem at hand. Any number of time ranges and filters can be used to fully investigate and isolate potential performance issues. |
