Position Title: Pre-Sales Systems Engineer

We are currently looking for an energetic and highly-motivated individual who posseses both strong technical know-how and sharp business acuity for a highly visible presales role.

Northern California

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of a focused team with Sales and Marketing reps to close business opportunities according to Sales plans.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the customer's business, structure, practices, challenges and requirements within the context of the customer's business sector.
  • Develop and present, either on-site or via Webex, comprehensive product overviews and functional demonstrations tailored to each prospects specific requirements and needs.
  • Author and/or contribute to subject matter white papers for delivery to prospects, industry analysts or partners.
  • Liaison with other departments (e.g. Professional Services, Marketing, Customer Care) and third party partners (e.g. Systems Integrators) to create a virtual account management team.
  • Develop technical tools to assist marketing department.
  • Present complimentary industry topics and product-specific content at user group meetings and industry trade shows/marketing events.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer or Consultant working in the software industry, preferably with application/infrastructure performance or management tools.
  • Experience with the Oracle product stack – usage and/or management (SQL Server experience a plus as well).
  • At least some functional familiarity with J2EE application design, deployment and management.
  • Strong presentation skills with senior and C-Level IT executives.
  • Thorough understanding of enterprise software lifecycle from planning, design and deployment to support, sustaining engineering and end-of-life.
  • Understanding of the complete software sales cycle.
  • Strong technical account management and project management skills.
  • Travel required.

Position Title: Research Analyst

We are currently looking for a highly technical individual to enhance existing and build new modeling algorithms for Multi-Tier Distributed environments and implement optimization algorithms.

Office Location

The BEZ Systems research group is located in our Chicago area office in Skokie, IL. This position can also be located at our corporate headquarters in Boston.

Qualifications

  • Experience in building analytical open and closed queueing network models of computer systems
  • Experience with Java and SQL
  • Experience with queueing theory, MVA and methods of optimization
  • Understanding DBMS with MPP, Cluster and GRID parallel processing architectures
  • Understanding Multi-Tier Distributed architecture
  • Experience with statistical methods of analysis

Education

PhD. with focus on Queueing Network Models and Optimization
