Boris is Chairman and CTO of BEZ Systems. He founded BEZ in 1983 with the objective to provide modeling, performance management and capacity planning solutions for complex computer systems and applications based on DB2, Oracle and Teradata. Boris immigrated to the United States from the USSR in 1980 and has held performance management and capacity planning positions for the First National Bank of Chicago and CNA Insurance. Previously, he was a project leader at the Computer Systems Research and Development Institute in Minsk, where he was involved in modeling and performance evaluation of IBM competitive mainframes while managing the development of software applications for optimization of automatic workload management.
From 1983 to 1990, he served as adjunct associate professor at DePaul University in Chicago, where he developed and taught three graduate courses on "Computer and Information System Modeling", "Queuing Theory with Computer Systems Applications" and "Computer and Communication Networks Design and Analysis".
Dr. Zibitsker has taught DB2 performance management and capacity planning seminars for the Relational Institute, founded by pioneers of relational DBMS Dr. Tedd Codd and Christ Date. His focus was on modeling of very large computer systems incorporating parallel processing. He has provided consulting services for Fortune 500 customers and software vendors.
In 1989, Boris focused BEZ Systems on developing commercial modeling tools for very complex systems incorporating parallel processing. In 1992, BEZ Systems announced BEZPlus for Teradata®, 1995 BEZPlus for DB2 PE , 1996 BEZPlus for Oracle® OPS. In 2003 BEZProphet for Oracle and in 2008 BEZVision for multi-tier distributed systems.
In 2000, readers of DM Review selected BEZ Systems as number 49 in the top 100 leading companies in Business Intelligence.
Boris focuses his research on multi-tier distributed environments and autonomic computing. He has presented many papers and taught seminars in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
