BEZ Systems First Vendor to Demonstrate Interoperability with IBM's DB2 UDB Version 8.2 Design Advisor
Las Vegas, September 23, 2004 - Only days after IBM's official announcement of DB2 Universal Database Version 8.2, BEZ Systems successfully demonstrated interoperability with its BEZPlus Predictive Performance Management (PPM) software.
BEZ is the first vendor to publicly demonstrate interoperability with this new release of DB2 UDB. The demonstration took place today at the IBM DB2 Information Management Conference.
BEZ executives showed a real-life example of BEZPlus monitoring a UDB DB2 application and providing IBM's Design Advisor with problematic queries to analyze. Design Advisor then generated recommendations and BEZPlus forecast the performance impact of these recommendations over time. It predicted the impact of implementing the Design Advisor recommendations on response time, throughput and utilization of resources for each workload for the next twelve months, based on the expected growth in user activity and database processing.
